Congratulations, Class of 2024!
Congratulations to Chassell junior, Kalvin Kytta (pictured left) for breaking the school record in the 3200m Run at yesterday's Houghton County Invitational track meet in Calumet! His record-breaking time was 10:16.55
The previous record of 10:19.20 was set in 2021 by Kalvin's older brother, Kolson (pictured right), also one of Kalvin's current coaches.
With a few meets left this season, Kalvin aims to continue shaving time off of what's now his record.
Way to go, Kalvin!

Congratulations to Meredith Ruonavaara (Kindergarten), Iris Schuldt (1st Grade), Kaley Palosaari (2nd Grade), Emma Larson (3rd Grade), Jackson Holombo (4th Grade), and Ruby Hermanson (5th Grade) for their awesome work! These Panthers were recognized at the end of last month as Students of the Month in the elementary.
In Kindergarten, Meredith is a great friend to all her classmates and goes above and beyond helping in the classroom. She is kind and has filled her class with her artwork that she makes at school and home. She's always in a good mood and is an encourager to her classmates and school friends. She is a great role model and gently reminds her friends to do the right thing.
In 1st Grade, Iris is very focused in class and gets her work done quietly. She is a kind friend to those around her and offers to help others when she can. Iris shows "Community" on the playground by inviting others to play with her.
In 2nd Grade, Kaley routinely follows class expectations, is a role model for others, and is a great participator. She is always willing to help others, works well with everybody, and is a kind friend.
In 3rd Grade, Emma was the first to volunteer to speak for the POW project and then many followed her lead. Emma is a conscientious student and a great friend to so many kids. She likes to have fun, but is able to work hard and do great work, also!
In 4th Grade, Jackson is always on task in class and kind to others. He is a great leader in soccer games at recess and sets a great example for others!
In 5th Grade, Ruby is helpful and courteous in and out of class. She helps classmates who have questions about assignments and volunteers to help her teacher during class. Ruby always has something positive to say and is a good friend. Great job, Panthers!
Congratulations to Luke Kauma (7th grade) and Carsyn Reis (9th grade) as they were recognized yesterday as MS/HS Students of the Month!
Luke received the award for the kindness he shows to others, his tremendous growth as a student, and his enthusiastic involvement in Band and Robotics.
Carsyn received the award for his high level of personal responsibility as a student, his engagement in his classes, and the many ways he has gotten involved in the Chassell school community.
Way to go, Luke and Carsyn!
